Thought of the Week

This is an inspiring article from a pastor from Washington, DC. It says what some already know, yet often don’t follow. Hell is real. Time is short. We are called to go.

He writes: “We’re part of a relay team, made up of Christians spanning time and space all the way back to those 12 who first followed the Lord. We have a part in God’s missionary purpose to make for Himself a people out of all the peoples of the earth….We serve a missionary God, which means we must be missionary people. And it means we shouldn’t be surprised by our Lord’s parting instructions: “Go make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

I hope you read it. I hope we know our call to go to neighbors and nations. Our church offers opportunities to go to nations (India, Honduras, etc.). We have opportunities each day to neighbors: a friend, family member, spouse, co-worker, a child. We are all missionaries.

“The Gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.”
